Good readings push up dollar:WashPost,May 2,08

Page D3: The government has sent stimulus checks to taxpayers and the effects of the FED's rate cuts working their way through the financial system, many investors are focused on the second half of the year, when they are betting the economy will rebound. My query: In the foreign exchange market, when the Dollar value is up,RMB's value is bound to be down with the supply and demand curves. However, that's not the wish of some policy makers. In other words, the policy makers wish to see RMB to be up vis-a-vis the US Dollar as the recent happenings. But who would know for sure the value of the Dollar vis-a-vis EURO or RMB in the second half of 2008? That remains to be seen. Economics is an INEXACT science, indeed! It deals with many factors that economists are unable to predict the future with exactness. I still remember a query raised by a student decades ago: You are an economist, howcome you are not rich? I replied: I am an economic philosopher and I am not interested in getting rich quick. Moreover, economics is an inexact science in the same catagory as medical science. You may ask a medical doctor:"Can you live a longer life as a holder of MD degree?" Not exactly in good humor! However, the following off-the-cuff recommendation may be useful for reference:

"Qing Xiao" in Pin Yin meaning chuckle or
"Sha Xiao" i.e. Giggle or
"Kuang Xiao" = guffaw.
Laugh it off for any unpleasant situations to maintain equanimity leading to longevity hopefully.

Laughter breeds longevity and smile is the warm-up time. Please try such remedy from the philosophy of good living with the endorsement of MDs who would share such remedy without prescription. Hehehahahoho all the way and we shall strive to be centenarians.Amen.
