Carlyle makes deal with Chinese Province: Shandong

WashPost,May 15, 2008 page D4: The Carlyle Group announced an agreement to stimulate trade and development in Shangdong Province,China. Shandong is an industrial and trade center with annual economic growth surpassing 14%. Carlyle is going to have first dibs on investment opportunities in a powerhouse province in China.

I stayed at the Guesthouse of Shandong University and lectured at Yantai University decades ago with fond memories.

On page B1 and B2: Oxon Hill High School Band taking a fast tempo to China for Olympic Celebration and the cost is $3,800 per person. Total cost is $265,000 and PG county offered $20,000. Such is another evidence of Sino-American Economics!
