Common Ground to ride bikes in US and in China

USA Weekend - May 2-4, 2008:BIKE TO WORK -

There is a long list of reasons to bike to work. "It is surprisingly quick, it's good for your health and your pocketbook, especially in light of rising gas prices, and it helps people get out of their physical inactivity rut," says Andy Clarke, executive director of the League of American Bicyclists. And, he says, it is the ultimate in multi-tasking: You clear your head and get in a workout while simply commuting to the office. Tips for commuting by bike:

First, get a helmet.
Next, Get familiar with the path. Bike route maps are available online.
Two or three times a week has great health benefits.
Be predictable and visible.

The following maxim may be useful for students in USA and in China as well.

"Si er bu xue ze dai" Thinking without learning has dangerous effect.

This axiom is the motto and insignia of St. John's University,Shanghai,China and is known to students in China. Such expression is cited by President Hu in Beijing University's 110 Anniversary on May 4th for China's Intellectual Movement.

1."Zi de qi le" i.e. Self-seeking happiness.

2."Zhu ren wei le" i.e. Helping others to be reflected to own happiness.

3."Zhi zu chang le" i.e. Self-satisfied for happiness forevermore.

I have sent Happiness Formula in previous blogs for reference if clicked on.
