Page 1B: China health care reform aims to help rural areas:

China announced a $124 billion, 3-year overhaul of its health care system that calls for building a clinic in each of the country's 700, 000 willages, expanding medical insurance and capping the cost of hundreds of prescription drugs. That is good news.

President Obama will initiate health reform as well in USA.

Page 9D: First Lady and Elmo promote healthy habits to plant veggies and eat fresh produce. Both would be talking about eating right and exercising regularly.

Prevention is better than cure as my motto for decades.

Wall Street Journal,May 6, 2009 on page A4: Curb on Credit Cards: Washington Post,May 7, 09 page A18: Americans pay around $15 billion in penalty fees, according to the Treasury Dept. Nearly 80% of American families have a credit card, and 44% of families carry a balance. We act as if having a credit card is a God-given right. The elimination of unfair and punitive credit card practices should result in fewer people using plastic. Yet some cardholders will sabotage the credit reform movement bacause Congress cannot simply legislate awasy the fact that many people are too financially vulnerable to have access to an unsecured line of credit as national addiction of easy credit.

Francis Shieh aka Xie Shihao is on credit card system for decades as my habit to be with the mainstream folks in USA and in China as well as I observed when I visited China recently.
