Reward teaching with intellectual satisfaction

Washington Times,May 20, 2009: Page A18- Ralph Knepper wrote his letter to the editor:

"Retired teachers are barely living above poverty level. Knepper has no outstanding debts and drive a 10-year old car. Moreover,he has been a good educator who lives within his means."

SAGE Comments: Teachers are engaged in educational pursuit with spiritual satisfaction as a missionary of knowledge. Good health may be maintained by eating broccoli sprouts to fight stomach ills. Chinese bean sprouts may be funtional as well.

Happiness is not material consumption over desire as MIT economics educator Paul Samuelson put in the textbook of economics. Humanistic Economics as a noble profession is the part and parcel of an intellectual in the mundane world.

Francis Shieh aka Xie Shihao as a teacher since 1945 with pride in intellect as the goal in life. Nobody would impugn such thought since education is a sine qua non for all folks in all nations.
