Bound to China: Book World,Washpost,8/26/07

Fast forward to 2007. China has become an inescapable presence in American life. A drop in Shanghai stock prices triggers a sell-off on the New York Stock Exchnge. NASA moves one of its satellites to avoid debris from a weapons test. Californians wipe soot off their cars. It is now practically impossible for an ordinary American family to go 12 months without buying something from China. Words for thought, indeed! Francis Shieh a.k.a.
