Young folks in USA and in China share similar interests

Washington Post,June 2, 2008 page B2:

A student speaker at the commencement:"For years, people our age have been typecast as apathetic, selfish, close-minded and lacking a social conscience. Now,I am humbled and amazed at the sheer number of my phenomenally qualified peers forging lucrative careers to go into the Peace Corps or Teach for America. Our social conscience is alive, and it is pulsing.

In China, under the socio-economic market system with the disaster of earthquake, college students are willing to go to Sichuan as volunteers with social conscience as well under China's Socialism with Chinese characteristics.(i.e. private interests are encouraged but public interests are promoted)

There is the common ground of dedication for Sino-American mutual economic interests apropos of philosophy of life for ethics and morality in the name of humanity.
