China's Resources: Shanghai is the biggest city in China and the second largest port in the world. Since the 1970s it has been growing by leaps and bounds. There are more than 300 skyscrapers in Shanghai. Abot 25 years ago, there was only one skyscraper. The city now has some of the tallest buildings in the world.

The XXIX(29th) Olympic Games will be held in Beijing, China. Aug 8 through 24, 2008.

China has the biggest source of hydroelectric, or water-produced, power on Earth. About 20% of China is covered with forest. China has good supplies of many metals, including tin, tungsten, zinc, gold, iron, lead,aluminum, uranium and copper. It produces more steel than any other country. The giant panda is one of the most loved animals in the world. About 15% of all the world's fish caught each year come from China's seas and rivers. www.askasia.org
