Global Times in Beijing re Obama published in WashPost,6/10/08 A23.

The Chinese characters of breaking American rules i.e."Guiju" in Pin Yin is not appropriate as published by the Global Times newspaper in Beijing on Barrack Obama's nomination victory and appeared in the Washington Post,June 10, 2008 on page A23. It is my opinion that the Chinese characters should be "chuantong" i.e. tradition to be the first African American in history with victory for nomination by the Democratic Party. I have reason to believe that folks with the knowledge of Chinese language would agree with me in this instance. However, editors have their own idiolect and nuance.(sic) I have also noticed that the diction "cuoci" in Pin YIn apropos of the variations of the British English and American English.

In reference to the first paragraph: "Will Americans vote for a black man?" Yes, Americans will vote for a black man." the writer so stated.

In my line of reasoning as a graduate student from China in 1947,I have learned that Americans must honor our Constitution and any racial bias should be eliminated in the 21st century since White Americans will be a minority in the years to come and we should realize and recognize multi-racial and multi-cultural or interracial and intercultural heritage in USA for fair and just nation for all Americans regardless of race, color or national origin.

Francis Shieh a.k.a. Xie Shihao,an octogenarian scholar who witnessed the case of discrimination when two American tenured professors of Chinese ancestry had to leave the same Economics Department at the same college after 17 and 18 years in 1983 and 1984 respectively in Maryland. One was forced to resign and the other was terminated.

Senator Obama stressed the ideal America in his campaign speeches and I wish him well to lead the nation for justice and fairness if or when he is elected as the President in November 2008 to change and to break the tradition to honor all Americans after January 2009. It is to be understood that America is a colorful nation to pursue fairness and justice in America and to work for betterment of all homosapiens on earth. June 10, 2008 at 11.18 a.m.

Sino-American Economics involves Economics of Discrimination, indeed!
