Page F2: The Chinese stock market has so mesmerized investors in recent years that many have overlooked promising smaller exchanges right in the neighborhood. Case in point: Taiwan, according to Mostrous, editor of the Silk Road Investor, an emerging markets newsletter.
Michael Metz, chief investment strategist at Oppenheimer,rejecting an optimistic consensus that favors a brief, moderate slump in line with economic behavior of the past 15 years. Metz sees unprecedented conditions that have left consumers with stagnant incomes, massive debt and shrinking home values. I agree with such assessment. Let us wait and see the happenings in the days to come.
