China signs trade deals with major US companies

Washington Post, June 17, 2008 page D8: The agreements, numbering more than 30, cover a wide range of businesses, from General Motors and Ford to Cisco Systems and Motorola. These partnerships will stimulate American jobs and contribute to our country's economic growth. said Tom Donohue,president of the US Chamber of Commerce. Signing these contracts is an example of the strong commercial bonds being forged between the United States and China. GM would export $1 billion worth of vehicles, component kits, machinery and equipment to Shanghai GM, through 2010. Shanghai will be the host for Expo in 2010. As an American citizen from Shanghai,I am delighted to witness such happening to fulfill my past vision for the mutual benefit of the United States and China in the 21st century.
