Inflation's bite worsens around world,China,Vietnam show fresh stress.Bond investors bet FED may raise US rates.
Page A4: Oil prices swell trade deficit.Page C7: US dollars weakness has been a major support for gold. Gold is dollar-denominated so when the dollar rises,it makes it more expensive for foreign buyers to purchase the yellow metal. Gold is seen as an alternative currency and tends to move inversely with the US$.

New York Times,June 11,2008 page C1,C14:

Secretary of Treasury Paulson's Path to China: Progress but miles to go. He will be leading a delegation of cabinet members to meet with Chinese counterparts in Annapolis,Maryland next week for strategic economic dialogue between US and China. That is another evidence of Sino-American Economics.
