The traits that Shanghai folks vaunt - busines acumen,savoir-fair and the embrace of things foreign - are not those in which Beijingers h are traditionally taken pride.
Shanghai is a metropolis, with more foreign flavor than Beijing. "Shanghai Fashion" is known to all. As a native of Shanghai since 1926, I am proud of Shanghai.
