Looking to Beijing with pride: WashPost,July29,08

On page B1,B8: Chinese Americans find cultural connection in games. Through the Olympics, parents can say to the kids,'See,where i'm from is not that old fashioned or out of date. We can do great things like hosting the Olympics. The Olympics is your thing, but we're hosting them.' It is a way to bring the first and second generation together. The heritage would be the same apropos of international sports competition. There are Chinese characters to arouse the interest of the readers on page B8. Chinese language is an art re caligraphy and a form of music in reference to tones in Mandarin. In this connection, "A Glimpse of the Chinese Language" would be a useful reference to bridge the gap of cultural difference. Cf. www.rand.org and www.Amazon.com online book catalog for reference. in light of the Olympic expressions i.e. one dream, one world with one homosapiens. The dreams may be prescient of good will and peace toward humanity in terms of globalization.

Francis Shieh a.k.a. Xie Shihao, the first generation arrived in USA in 1947 of the 20th century.
