Racial Divide and global economic connection et al.

Multiracial, biracial students gather in night of comedy, poetry and song at the University of Maryland. Comedian Dan Nainan talks about his Asian heritage in the Stamp Student Union. Such is the melting pot in USA. E-mail: penndbk@gmail.com

Ex-US Army Captain Yee, a graduate of West Point, class 1990 drew national attention after American treatment of Guantanamo detainees. Yee, formerly a Lutheran and whose father had served during WWII, converted to Islam in 1991. Unfortunately being an American Muslim made him a target but he advocated essentially American values, values of diversity, tolerance, religious freedom.

According to the radio broadcast on March 31, 2008: World's followers of Islam already exceeded Catholic Christians in the 21st century. Chinese universities provide special food courts and USAF bases have services for Muslims as I have noticed in China and in USA. Such arrangements are good for humanity. On being Chinese or American from the face value would not be as important as the character of being kind and good as a human being. Any other scenarios in this mundane world?

The Treasury Secretary Paulson has new plan today for mortgages in America but a professor at the University of Maryland commented about such plan to be in favor to investment bankers. Here we may be able to detect some aspects of Sino-American economics in terms of global banking and the vision of Henry Paulson,Jr. re US-China economic relations. Food for thought for the readers to form your own judgment for fairness.
