Parade magazine, March 2, 2008: The elderly

The esteem in which society holds its elderly may be the best barometer of a nation's morality as per the columnist Marilyn vos Savant on page 19 of Parade magazine dated March 2, 2008. Please make a comparison of Sino-American Economics apropos the elderly folks in USA and in China. If the elderly folks are not respected, the society may be regarded as lacking morality to be overly pragmatic!?
Let us look at the empirical evidence in USA and in China and reach our own conclusions about morality(goodness or badness of human character). Everyone is getting older as years go by so such query would be most relevant in the short run or in the long run depending upon your own age groups. I trust you do have an answer in your mind and I merely wish to kindle you interest from today's column in the Parade magazine.
Thanks for reading and have a great day regardless of your age. Age is merely a number, indeed. We are what we think in our mindset. I feel like a "xiaohuzi" as a young learner for life. Live and learn would be my cup of tea!
