Law of Probability in USA with Chinese motif

LAS VEGAS Gambles on Asian Visitors: The Wynn Las Vegas Resort has a restaurant called Red 8, a jackpot for Asians who also consider the color red good fortune. Perhaps it implies that the East is Red.(sic) "Wynn went out of its way to appeal to Asian visitors," observes Schwartz, due to the Resort's principal backer, Kazu Okada, who has a restaurant named after him at the hotel. "This resort has Eastern- inspired art throughout the grounds and the lion statues guarding the hotel entrance are exact replicas of the entrance to the Bank of Shanghai and other institutions in China as well. It would be like Americans seeing a copy of the Washington Monument overseas - they want Asians to feel at home." Says Schwartz. "Steve Wynn jokes that the East is becoming so powerful that soon his corporation will be known as an Asian company with a casino in Las Vegas. China's economy is booming with or without such law of probability.

It is said that besides gambling, Asians customarily spend their money on lavish weddings, and Las Vegas is the most popular spot in the world to get hitched. Wedding planners are betting 8-8-08 may be busiest date in history to tie the knot. US Treasury Department's Bureau of Engraving issued US paper currency with 888,the lucky number. Cf. the previous blog for details. It is reported that Olympic Games would have Red-letter day on August 8, 2008 for "Fa Cai" in Pin Yin system of romanization i.e." strike it rich" or "hit the Jackpot" in English expressions.
