US-China have common interest apropos of the Public

Washington Post,Sept. 17, 2007 page A6: Rumsfeld Foundation(about 20 million) to encourage public service: Loans to microenterprises in developing countries and try to generate support for Asian nations. Rumsfeld would sort through files and works with the Library of Congress and would keep foundation going after he and his wife Joyce have died. That is a worthy cause for students to study public policy in foreign and national security affairs, economics et al. Needless to say,US-China studies would be included with such goal. Both nations are alert to security affairs.
CCTV-4 "Gong yi zhong guo" Pin Yin for four Chinese characters meaning Public Benefits for China i.e. Public Interest is stressed in China for socio-economics i.e. Economics for Chinese society in the 21st century for Economic Construction.
The future depends on empirical evidence for two great nations to have similar interests to work together for the wellbeing of the peoples in the days to come. Both nations are members of the Security Council of the United Nations and both English and Chinese are official languages in the UN. Sino-American Economics would deserve serious attention for humankind on both sides of the Pacific Ocean. Francis Shieh aka Xie Shihao on Tuesday, September 18, 2007 at 7.18 a.m.
