US-China: Common Ground in education/Security

George Miller,Chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee wrote "The federal government should substantially increase funding to school districts. We should offer performance pay to hardworking and talented teachers based on fair, proved and objective criteria. If we don't treat teachers as valued partners,we'll continue to face an unacceptable teacher shortage, and students will pay the price.

Patriot Day,declared in December 2001: Sept. 11, 2001 to date,marking the sixth anniversary: President Bush and Laura Bush will begin the day at St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington for a service of prayer and remembrance.

I attended St. John's University,Shanghai,China from 1943-1946 as a graduate with B.A. in 1946 and started my teaching career in 1945 in Shanghai until September 7, 2007. I still would like to teach when there is an opportunity for learning twice.

After more than six decades,US and China have the same goal to promote education and fight Terrorism as the common ground for two great nations on both sides of the Pacific in the 21st century.
