Senator Obama outlines tax cuts:Washpost 9/19/07

Senator Barack Obama delivered his economic speech proposing $80 billion in tax cuts for working Americans, homeowners and seniors with the declaration that "the wealth of our nation is rooted in the work of our people. Wages are not keeping pace. This isn't the invisible hand of a market at work, it's the successful work of special interests." He proposed eliminating tax returns for 22 million senior citizens, promising that no retiree making less than $50,000 would pay income tax. My comment: The Democratic candidate is certainly helping the middle class seniors. Such proposal is in line with Confucian respect for the aged in the minds of Asian Americans.
