Washington Post,Dec.17,2007 page D1

Americans are less pleased with U.S. services. Such survey measures an array of federal programs and services for the American customer satisfaction index by the University of Michigan and other groups. My comment: We are still regular taxpayers as our obligation but we demand satisfactory service with our rights!
Social Networking for the socially minded as the headline under Business section. To me,this is socio-economics as economists were making a pitch in 1970s in history.
Page D3:A photo of Chen Shui-bian with his smiles when went aboard of one of the 150 F16 jets after President George H.W. Bush lifted a ban on the sale of F-16s to Taiwan.
Query: Three U.S.Presidents have proclaimed that there is only one China and Taiwan is a part of China. Would it be proper for one sovereign nation to sell military jets to another sovereign nation as friendly diplomacy? Both USA and China are members of the Security Council of the United Nations for preserving peace. Selling such jets would or would not be regarded as friendly nations especially China has been making efforts in North Korea for non-nuclear proliferation for peace? I am a student of economics and we do need peace in the nuclear age. Nobody would impugn, indeed! Francis Shieh,a taxpayer since 20th century and a student of economics desiring peace and economic development for USA and China in the 21st century. Dec.17, 2007
