Dollar's drop forces global economy to shift

Washington Post,Dec.24,2007 page A8:China is turning noses up at the dollar. A manager at Shanghai Import and Export Co.,which exports garlilc oil, has begun to demand EUROS from overseas customers instead of dollars. He said:"The use of euros enables us to shy away from losses caused by the conversion between RMB and the weakened US$" My comment: Some US politicians have urged the rise of RMB in exchange rate and such boomerrang pops up as kick backs of such self-defeating effort. Any other scenarios? Your comments are invited for my learning opportunity. Francis Shieh a.k.a. Xie Shihao. December 24, 2007 at 8.24 p.m.
