Page A9: Geithner touts China i.e."zhaolai zhongguo" in Pin Yin system of phonetic equivalent in 4 Chinese characters. The Secretary of Treasury is "doushouzhe" i.e. doer for sale of US Treasury Securities. However, there are other issues as well!

Geithner will make contribution to advancing Sino-American economic and financial cooperation and the growth of the US-China relationships. Such mission is not untrue.

In re data: China holds circa $768 billion of US Treasury securities as the biggest creditor. It is clear that China has faith in USA for mutual benefit.

It is expected that a wide range topics of bilateral, regional, and global areas will be covered as focus for the upcoming strategic conference. In other words, overall plans for international political economies would be touched as issues of mutual concern for USA and China.

The dates are set for July 27 and July 28,2009 in Washington,DC. Media will cover detals of such important conference of Sino-American economics in globalization.

Page A7: According to Global Peace Index,New Zealand is rated most peaceful followed by Demark,Norway, Japan and Canada. Cuba, China,Peru and Ukraine are rated more peaceful than the USA due to large prison population in the United States to be rated as 83rd. In good conscience,I pay no attention about such arbitrary rating and biased ranking.

According to Hong Kong Phoenix TV reports,US Chambler of Commerce Director is very supportive of direct flights between the mainland and Taiwan as positive economic development for cross-strait relations. Peace and economic development are the goals of USA and China including Taiwan under the leadership of Ma.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi praised China's economic accomplishments and she cited Bishop Aloysius Jin, S.J. of Shanghai as the evidence of religious freedom.

As a product of Jesuit education in China and in the United States,I have reason to believe that she would regard Jesuits are Jesuits with the same goal of AMDG and IHS with spirituality and educational endeavor in their minds and hearts.

Dennis Menos wrote to the editor of Washington Post,June 2, 2009 on page A14:

"President Obama's statement accusing North Korea of a violation of international law would have carried greater weight had the US provided leadership in the areas of nuclear nonproliferation by ratifying the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. Senate ratification of the treaty would go a long way toward demonstrating to the world, and especially to nuclear proliferation such as North Korea and Iran, that the United States finds nuclear testing to be abhorrent and a crime against future generations." Such statement is worthy of our understanding.
