Confucius to become a global sage? Jim Knight, Britain's Minister of Schools, proposed "Confucius Classrooms" be set up in English public schools in hopes that the classrooms would help boost exam results. He said:"There is a lot we can learn from Chinese culture and Confucius" Confucius said that, alongside knowledge, you should have time to THINK. That reminds me of the motto of my alma mater St. John's University in Shanghai with such on the university seal. www.ask.com to search: St. John's University,Shanghai for verification.

Confucian values hold that society should be based on well-defined relationships between people both within a family and within the society, and in its essence lie the ideal of harmony and peace.

The popularity of a language is the reflection of the expectation of a promising future of a nation in globalization such as the English language as international language of business in the 20th century and in the 21st century as well. Chinese is in vogue in the 21st century as the result of China's economic status. Cantonese dialect was popular due to Hong Kong's international business success but Wu dialect(Shanghainese) is becoming popular for the same reason especially Shanghai will be the venue for World Expo in 2010.

I received my B.A. in China with studies on Confucianism and earned my M.A. with thesis on Confucianism(Confucius and Mencius) and my Ph.D.'s dissertation entitled "Work and Study Cycle Theory" as part and parcel of Confucianism.

It is to be noted that ethics and morality are stressed in Confucianism and such virtue is being included in MBA curriculum for the study of global economics.
