Sequel to Music in search of harmony and peace

Music is the comprehensive art with roots in several cultures, the East and the West do meet in globalization. NSO in China is a clear evidence as published in the STYLE section of the Washington Post, June 10, 2009.

Music started in Churches, a combo of Judaic, Greek, and Middle Eastern traditions.

In Greece, mathematics and music were regarded to have common ground. Pythagoras wrote acoustical discoveries and the refinements of the art of music. The word had scale structures and was translated into Latin as "Modus." Economics may be considered as part of music in terms of rhapsody with nonharmonic tone in the light vein with humor.

Musicians became more active outside the church, they turned to the vernacular for their lingo.

During the 17th and 18th centuries when Italy and its performers were influential throughout Europe. Even today, many famous Italians are great musicians. In USA, many Americans of Italian ancestry happen to be renowned musicians as well.

Marco Polo went to China and appreciated Chinese classical music very much. He lived from 1254? to 1324) He also introduced Chinese big pancake with modified Pizza as the popular food in USA.

In Pin Yin,music is "Yin Yue" for two Chinese characters as art in writing. My son is a musician for his professional expertise as a violist and violinist in the United States. My grandson,at age 6, is playing violin as well.

I am an octogenarian graduate student from Shanghai, China and I am aware of the fact that the Chinese language is a form of art(re calligraphy) and music(4 tones in Mandarin) plus the mellifluous, sweet sounding Wu dialect.(Shanghainese)
