Phoenix TV reported on March 10, 2010:(released in the evening on March 9,2010)

US Secretary of Commerce Gary Lucke announced that US would cooperate and collaborate with China to build High-Speed Railways (Gao-su Tie-dao in Pin Yin system of romanization) US has been focusing on airlines and highways but neglected the state-of-art of railways. It is high time to exchange the technological expertise with engineers specialized in railways in China for mutual benefit.

Gary Lucke was the Governor of Washington State and an American citizen of Chinese ancestry. His grandfather came to USA as a laborer and may or may not be involved in building railway in California many decades ago in American history.

Francis Shieh a.k.a. Xie Shihao had train rides in China witnessing such achievement with comparisons of the American railroads.
