The Public Security Bureau has accused Uighur separatist group of planning terrorist attacks to disrupt the Olympics. Authorities said a woman plotted to blow up an airliner using materials in a soft-drink can but was thwarted by quick-witted crew members. Since then, the Chinese government has tightened restrictions on liquids carried by airline passengers.

The United States has designated some Uighur separatist movements as terrorist organization and declared that one of the the East Turkestan Islamic Movement, has links to Osama bin Laden's al-Qaeda network.

The reader of this blog is entitled to make judgment about such news to be related or otherwise to Sino-American Economics. I have reason to believe that both USA and China are fighting Terrorism for mutual benefit in the pursuit of peace and economic development in the 21st century.n

Secretary of Treausry Paulson mentioned the importance of two nations to work together for energy and environment several days ago in Beijing. The website www.epa.gov may be useful for reference. Authorities in China are aware of auto's impact on the environment and action has been taken to such problems before Olympic Games.
