A possible rapprochement? Hopefully! Any conflict is not desirable for China and Tibet has been and is a part of China. Remember- March 14,08: Riot,beating,robbing and killing by the radical Tibetans! Such violence required law and order by police and the military to calm down such acts. That is justified for the peace and order of folks in Tibet and other parts of China.
Concern rises over China Visa: Tightening policy is designed for peace and order before Olympics but business travelers would complain for hassles. Well,what is more imporant? When we have to go through security check points before boarding,that is hassle as well for security. Here is common ground for Sino-American Economics of Security. Security is better than Violence without security. Concur or demur?

Who'll cover the checks: The Democratic candidates tax and spending plans are costly and ambitious- and probably short on fiscal realism. My comment: I taught Macro-economics involving fiscal policy for decades and I can use the following expressions in Pin Yin system of romanization to describe such situations:
"Jie hua xian fo" meaning to borrow flowers to offer to Buddda with the insinuation that someone uses other folks' funding for the priorities as the leaders see fit. Those who have political clouts are in the position to call the shots. That is it!
"Kong zhong lou ge" meaning a castle in the sky or a pie in the sky. Looks good but maybe far-fetched at best.
The above four-word Chinese idioms can be understood by those who know the Chinese language. However,for those who do not understand the Pin Yin,never too late to learn since I have learned it. YES,WE CAN! We heard such expression at the campaign speeches and we can be online as well. Hehehahahoho all the way and we shall live to be centenarians.
