Language problems would generate misunderstanding in semantics of two different languages. That is the very issue as I have detected re US-China relations for decades. It is known that about more than 1/5 people in the world speak Chinese with Chinese culture and China is now the fastest growinig economy. Americans are aware of the need to learn Chinese for better understanding for whatever contacts with the folks in China or whatever activities for communication. However,Chinese is a complicated language even natives have difficulties with it. Since China has officially pushed the language reforms to simplify the language and the introduction of Pin Yin system of romanization for globalization via alphabets for learners,"A Glimpse of the Chinese Language" in English(cf. www.rand.org) is useful with the significant purpose of globalization for cultural understanding in the nuclear age for true peace and economic development. Chinese is one of the six official languages in the United Nations. Thank you for reading my views and have a great day!
