Business Week,July 27, 2009 CHINA on the cover

China Goes Shopping:

"Chinese companies from oil refiner Sinopec to carmaker Beijing Automobile, Haier have invested in investing Opel car in Germany,an upscale Japanese department store."

The above happenings dovetail Joseph E. Stiglitz's article in "The Nation" July 13,2009 issue:

"It is time to restructure the world's economy to ensure a more stable and more
shared prosperity." Such distribution of wealth is inline with globalization of humanity.

"Economist" July 17, 2009 issue:Focus,Chief Economist at the World Bank Justin Lin argues the low-income countries need to make small local banks the mainstay(Shou yao zhi cheng" in Pin Yin )of the financial system. I would concur but would add the role of community colleges on the local level to train folks with basic knowledge in Economics. More evidence below:

Washington Post,Sunday, July 19, 2009 on page C6:

In August 2009 the University of the District of Columbia will inaugurate a stand-alone community college, offering more than 20 associate degree and certificate programs as well as over 25 workforce development programs to prepare students for successful careers and academic achievement. The community college will deliver what President Obama is calling for: innovative, results-driven program that enrich the city with educated, qualifed student, ready to contribute.Allen Sessoms,President of the University of DC stated. Such statement would coincide the theme of the article entitled "The Future of Community Colleges" published in the Congressional Record,July 18, 1974 for reference.

Francis Shieh a.k.a. Xie Shihao, an advocate of community colleges as a source of economic development with the following works:-

1. "Keys for Economic Understanding" published in 1971 www/Amazon.com book catalog.

2. "Keys to Economic University" www.ask.com for information.

3. "Work and Study Cycle Theory" to be validated and implemented in USA or in China to enhance productivity for economic growth.
