Journal of International Affairs Winter 2008

Columbia University's School of International Affairs since 1947 with interdisciplinary approaches. That is my approach to study International Economics.

Page 92: China's interests have been transformed by its growing dependence on the dollar-based international monetary system. That is not unexpected from my past blogs in re China is a friend of the United States.

Page 96: China's growing importance in the world will help to encourage the RMB's international use responding to China's role as a creditor to the United States in particular.

Page 99: China would prefer a lower risk and lower profile strategy of acting regionally rather than globally guided by Deng's instruction that China would maintain a low profile. My comment: Such perspective is the Confucian traditional culture in the minds and hearts of leaders and folks in China.

If readers would be interested in multidisciplinary approach to the study of China via philosophy, language and economics et al,please consult the works by Shieh,Francis listed in the Library of Congress online catalog www.loc.gov for reference.
