Sequel to my blog dated August 16th:Foreign Policy magazine July/Aug.issue

Foreign Policy,September/October 2009 issue apropos of PEI's article in July/August issue of Foreign Policy.

Page 10: "Why Asia Wins": K. Mahlubani, Dean, National University of Singapore wrote his letter to the Editor:

"Pei's article makes no effort to explain the remarkable development of Asia especially China"

Comment: Pei Minxing left China in 1980s and he should be aware of the positive development of China with fairness as an associate, working for Council of Foreign Relations.

Mahbubani wrote further that Pei seems to suggest that the US can continue on autopilot and will always remain on top. Pei should read the insightful article by Henry Kissinger published in the Washington Post on Sunday,August 30, 2009. Moreover,Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz also published an analytical article about US and China. Pei is more focused to his own view on politics from his background in China instead of China's recent economic achievement.

Mahbubani's book "The New Asia Hemisphere: The Irresistible Shift of Global Power to the East" should be a good reference for all Asia watchers especially the development in China.
