Lunar Year of the Ox until Feb.14, 2010:Year of the Tiger

Greetings to all. I was born in the Year of the Tiger in 1926. Effective Feb.14, 2010 on Valentine's Day, Lunar Year of the Tiger comes back again. According to the Chinese Zodiac, I will be 84, still an octogenarian striving to be a centenarian in the year 2026.

The sequence puts Rat first(2008) and then ox(cow) in 2009 Tiger in 2010, Hare, 2011 Horse,2012,Ram(sheep) 2013, Monkey in 2014, Rooster 2015,Dog 2016, Boar, Dragon 2017 and Serpent(Snake) in 2018. One can easily go forward or backward every 12 years to learn the zodiac for reference. It is up to the reader to imagine such anecdote. In Pin Yin,"Yishi or 'quwen."

Such imagination works well. I eat like a tiger and those who are born in the year of the Roaster or (chicken) do eat like such fowl plus the habit of rising early as a morning person.

Francis Shieh a.k.a. Xie Shihao sharing a bit of cultural humor with readers to find out such culture in the East may be applicable to the West. Former President Jimmy Carter was born in the Year of the Rat and he did good works for the poor i.e. feeding the hungry. His birthday is Oct.1st, the national holiday of China. In histor,Carter announced the normalization with China decades ago. Such seredipity may be considered as Sino-American Economics in action for mutual benefit in the 21st century.

One of the First Ladies believes in Astrology relative to heaven and zodiac may be relevant to animals in heaven with a small "h." The Capitalized H should be reserved for rational homosapiens with faith, hope and Love.

Food for thought with fun in the mundane world. Thursday, September 3, 2009 at 3.42 p.m.
