Senate approves bailout. House has one more shot

Washington Post editorial dated October 2, 2008 on page A22: America's second chance at making financial order out of chaos. I read such with my endorsement.
Business folks urge Congress to act immediately to pass legislation to stabilize the US financial system and contain the damage to our broader economy while that opportunity still exists. Let us wait and see tomorrow and hope for the best for US economy with global impact.

Page E3: RE: Scene about China: After reviewing documents supplied by officials, the international governing body of gymnastics announced yesterday it was satisfied that China's female gymnasts met minimum age requirements during the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Age does not matter in my mind, their skills are more meaningful. I am an octogenarian but I feel like a student willing to learn from others everyday.

Page A13 of WashPost,9/30/08. Young Chinese rethink US-Style Capitalism:
The US economic problems have shaken the foundation of what Chinese have been taught
in the three decades of Deng's reform and opening up campaign. China's leaders say their country can still learn from the United States - from its mistakes that is. I agree with such viewpoint to be stressing ethics and morality in businesses. Moreover,Chinese should learn English as an international language of business. However, economics as a field of moral philsophy advocated by Adam Smith and Confucius/Mencius et al must be taken seriously for an optimal economic society in the USA and in China. Money is the means of an end and the end is the wellbeing of folks in any society with true understanding of our existence in this mundane world and to be able to make contribution while we are on earth. Money is NOT the only goal as we do need intellectual pursuit, spiritual growth and good health.
